About BookDiscovery

A free directory built for authors who want exposure and readers who want great books.

Who We Are

BookDiscovery is a free book directory built by Sales 101, a Canadian publishing platform. We noticed that authors — especially independent and self-published authors — had very few free, visible options to promote their books to real readers.

Most directories either charge listing fees, require a subscription, or bury listings behind a paywall that readers have to pay to access. We built this one differently: free for authors to list, free for readers to browse, no credit card ever.

Every genre is welcome — fiction, non-fiction, self-help, memoir, business, poetry, and anything in between. Any author, any book, any reader.

Why We Built It

Authors deserve free exposure

Writing a book is hard enough. You should not have to pay for the privilege of having it listed somewhere people can find it.

Readers deserve free discovery

You shouldn't need an account or a subscription to browse books. The directory is fully open to readers — no login, no paywalls.

Coupons and previews are a bonus

Authors can optionally offer discount codes and preview chapters to give readers a taste before they buy.

Quick Questions

Is it really free to list a book?

Yes — completely free, forever. We will never ask for your credit card.

Who can list a book?

Any author — self-published or traditionally published — can create a free account and submit their book. We accept every genre: fiction, non-fiction, self-help, memoir, business, poetry, and more.

How do I get into the Top 10 or Top 50?

Post a backlink to the directory from your website, blog, or social profile, then submit it through your dashboard. Verified backlinks and reader engagement determine ranking. There are no paid placements.
